Milkweed Pods

These creations are based on milkweed plant pods. I began making large chicken wire frames, covering them in paper mache from specific books, or newspapers, and then 'filling' the interior with other, sometimes related, fabric, paper, objects. Almost all of the materials are reused/recycled. Finished pods range from 18 - 30 inches in height.

So far, I have several 'sets' (same paper, similar consideration of interior materials). With each set I find myself thinking about different memories, reinterpreting, revising.

One day they may become an installation.
